This page supplements our privacy policy. It covers purchases made in our Stockel shop, not on the website.
What we do
When you shop in our Stockel shop and give us your email address or phone number at the till, we use them for your loyalty account and our emails. We also use them for something you may not expect: finding out whether our Facebook and Instagram ads bring customers into the shop.
What we send to Meta
Once a day, we send Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd, through its Conversions API, for each in-store purchase linked to your customer record:
- your email address, scrambled (hashed) before it is sent: Meta never receives it in plain text;
- your phone number, scrambled the same way, only if it is on your record;
- the date and time of the purchase;
- its total amount;
- a technical receipt number, used only to avoid duplicates.
We never send your name, your address, the pieces you bought or how you paid. A purchase with no email address or phone number is never sent.
Why
Meta matches this scrambled data against its accounts to give us overall figures: how many in-store purchases followed one of our ads, seen or clicked. We do not see who saw what, and we do not use this data to target you or to build audiences. Meta may also use this information to improve ad delivery, under its own terms: see Meta’s privacy policy, which also sets how long Meta keeps it.
Legal basis
Our legitimate interest in measuring how well our ads work. We keep the data to the strict minimum, and we only send purchases made from 20 October 2026, the date from which a notice is displayed at the till.
Objecting
At any time, without giving a reason: write to info@ruedegarennes.com. Your purchases will no longer be sent from the next daily upload. Your loyalty account and our emails are not affected. Your other rights (access, erasure, complaint to the Belgian Data Protection Authority) are set out in our privacy policy.
